Leonard Bartlett
Lieutenant, Oxford & Bucks Light Infantry
Leonard Bartlett lived at 1 College Road, Dulwich and studied at Alleyn’s until 1912. His father was the College bookseller and he had six brothers who all served in the British Forces during the war. Leonard joined the war effort as part of the Oxford & Bucks Light Infantry and served as a 2nd Lieutenant. He saw service overseas in France and was involved in the final advance to victory in 1918. It was during these operations that Leonard was killed in action while leading his platoon in an attack on October 1st 1918, at the age of 20. He is buried at the Anneux British Cemetery in France.
