Walter James Boutall
2nd Lieutenant, 3rd Battalion Royal Fusiliers / City of London Regiment
Walter James Boutall was born on 4th May 1899 and attended Alleyn's from 1900-1906. According to information published by Rosebury's Auction House, London, SE24 when his medals were sold at auction in 2012 he was awarded a 1914-1915 Star, a Victory Medal and a George V Territorial Efficiency Decoration. He was also awarded the Military Cross 1st January 1917.
He served as a private in the 5th London Regiment, as a Captain in the 4th London Regiment and rose to the rank of Major in 1937, while still serving in the London Regiment. He was killed on 22nd June 1944 when a V1 hit his house in Dulwich.
