Stanley Chappell
Lieutenant, Royal Flying Corps
Stanley Chappell studied at Alleyn's until 1913 before joining the war effort as part of the Royal Flying Corps. He served as a Lieutenant with the RFC and saw considerable service in France despite being only 19 years old. After being involved in an accident on the Western Front, Stanley returned to England in 1918.
He was in London when he killed on service flying in a snow storm. There are three dates given in the sources for his death February 28th, March 2nd and May 2nd 1918.
He is buried at West Norwood Cemetery.
