Cuthbert Samuel Dixon

Cuthbert Samuel Dixon was a student at Alleyn’s and joined the war effort as part of the 6th City of London Rifles, London Regiment. The 6th London took part in a number of major operations on the Western Front including the Battle of Loos in 1915, the Battle of the Somme in 1916 and the Battle of Messines in 1917. In February 1918, the battalion was disbanded due to a lack of new recruits. The remaining officers and other ranks of the battalion were sent to 58th Division where they joined 2/6th Battalion.
