George Andrew Eadie left Alleyn’s in 1913 and joined the war effort shortly afterwards. After being attested, he joined the London Regiment and was sent for service overseas on the Eastern Front. During his time on the Eastern Front, George served as a Lance Corporal and took part in the British Jerusalem operations in November 1917 which eventually ended in fighting for the city. Unfortunately, it was during this advance towards Jerusalem that George was killed in action on November 7th 1917, at the age of 19.
