Harry Herbet Hall
Lance Corporal, London Regiment (First Surrey Rifles)
Harry Herbert Hall was a student at Alleyn’s until 1896 and joined the war effort as part of the London Regiment (First Surrey Rifles). During his time with the regiment, Harry served overseas on the Western Front in France and in Flanders as a Lance Corporal. In December 1917, he was serving in Cambrai, France when he was killed in action on December 9th. Two days earlier the British had closed the Battle of Cambrai after achieving some moderate success in the North of the area. Harry is buried at Flesquieres Hill Cemetery.
