William L. Howard

Private, Royal Army Medical Corps

William L. Howard was a student at Alleyn’s and joined the war effort as part of the Royal Army Medical Corps. He served overseas on the Western Front in France and was involved in the major British operation on the Somme in 1916. It was during this operation that William was killed in action on 19th August 1916. He is commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial.
