Donald Stanley Jarvis

Donald Stanley Jarvis was a student at Alleyn’s until 1912. During this time he lived at 469 Lordship Lane, East Dulwich with his parents and his two sisters, Dorothy and May. After leaving school, Donald found employment as a motor cyclist, a trade he put to good use when he enlisted in the Army as part of the Motor Cyclist Section of the Royal Engineers. During his time with the MCS, Donald served as a Corporal overseas in France and was often responsible for delivering messages from HQ to different military units across the Western Front. He served in this role until his unit was dispersed after the end of the war on January 26th 1919.
