Reginald Harry Jeffrey
2nd Lieutenant, Royal Warwickshire Regiment
Reginald Harry Jeffrey lived at 4 Lanercost Road, Tulse Hill and joined the war effort in 1916 after being granted a commission. After completing his officer training, he received the rank of 2nd Lieutenant and was attached to the Royal Warwickshire Regiment before being sent overseas. He arrived on the Western Front in October 1916 and spent the remainder of the year serving in France with his new regiment. Reginald continued to serve on the Western Front in 1917 and was involved in the major British offensive at Arras in April, an operation that the Allies hoped would push the German forces back and produce a breakthrough in the war. Unfortunately, it was during this offensive that Reginald was killed in action on April 11th 1917. He is buried at Fampoux Cemetery.
