Charles Perceval Judge

Lance Corporal, 7th British Columbia Regiment

Charles Perceval Judge was a student at Alleyn’s until 1898 and moved to Canada before the outbreak of the First World War. He signed up to the war effort as part of the Canadian Expeditionary Force and joined the 7th British Columbia Regiment as a Private. In 1916, he was serving on the Western Front in Flanders as a Lance Corporal when he was killed in action on June 3rd during the Battle of Mont Sorrel, an attack launched by the German Army to divert Allied resources from the Somme. Charles is commemorated on the Menin Gate Memorial.
