J. D. K. Lunnon
Lieutenant, Essex Regiment
J. D. K. Lunnon was a student at Alleyn's until 1915 and joined the war effort as part of the Essex Regiment. He served overseas as a Lieutenant and saw action on the Western Front in 1917. Unfortunately, it was during this time that Lunnon became wounded in battle and he was sent home to recover from his injuries. In the July 1917 edition of the Edward Alleyn Magazine, it was reported that he was recovering well and was able to pay his old School a visit on Founder's Day, along with fellow Old Boys J. E. Appleyard and M. C. and F. C. Picton.
