N. C. Macnamara 

Major, Royal Army Service Corps 

N. C. Macnamara was a student at Alleyn's until 1904 and joined the war effort as part of the Army Service Corps. During his time overseas, his bravery in the field earned him the French Croix de Guerre, an award given for acts of heroism against the enemy.
