Ernest Mays

Rifleman, King’s Royal Rifle Corps

Ernest Mays lived at 72 Haselrigge Road and attended Alleyn’s until 1907. He joined the war effort as part of the King’s Royal Rifle Corps and served as a Rifleman overseas on the Western Front. In 1915, he was serving near Ypres when he was killed in action on October 12^th 1915. He is buried at New Irish Farm Cemetery.
