Albert E. Miller

2nd Lieutenant, Machine Gun Corps 

Albert E. Miller was a student at Alleyn's until 1908 and joined the war effort as part of the London Regiment (Royal Fusiliers). During his time with the Fusiliers, he served as a Private but was later granted a commission after proving himself as a natural leader in the field. After completing his officer training, he was granted the rank of 2nd Lieutenant and joined the Machine Gun Corps. In 1919, he was awarded the Military Cross after displaying great gallantry in active operations against the enemy. 

He was brother to Cyril William Miller and Frederick G Miller, both of whom attended Alleyn's and also fought in the war.
