Theodore Leslie Mountain

Theodore Leslie Mountain was a student at Alleyn’s until 1913 and lived at 121 Friern Road with his parents, John and Alice. After leaving school, he moved to 219 Stanstead Road, Forest Hill and joined the war effort in November 1914 as part of the Royal Army Medical Corps. During his time with the RAMC, Theodore served as a Driver and was responsible for transporting wounded soldiers from the front to hospitals behind the lines. He served in this role until late 1916 when he was offered a transfer to the infantry with the West Yorkshire Regiment. In October 1917, Theodore was serving with his new regiment on the Western Front when he went Missing in Action. He was later presumed to have been killed on 9th October 1917.
