Hubert George Cecil Muggridge
Corporal, Queen’s Own (Royal West Kent Regiment)
Hurbert George Cecil Muggridge lived in Beckenham and was a student at Alleyn’s until 1901. He joined the war effort as part of the Queen’s Own (Royal West Kent Regiment) and served as a Corporal overseas on the Western Front. In 1917, he took part in the Battle of Arras which the Allies hoped would provide a breakthrough on the Western Front. Unfortunately, it was during this battle that Hubert was killed in action on May 3rd 1917. He is commemorated on the Arras Memorial.
