Henry Treneman Partridge

Lieutenant, Royal Sussex Regiment/Royal Flying Corps

Henry Treneman Partridge lived at 83 Pendle Road, Streatham and attended Alleyn’s with his brothers, John Ernest Partridge, and Alan Starr Partridge, until 1915. After leaving school, he joined the Inns of Court OTC and was gazetted to the Royal Sussex Regiment in 1915. During his time with the Sussex, Henry served overseas on the Eastern Front as a 2^nd Lieutenant and saw action in Egypt. From 1917-18, he took part in the Palestine Campaign and was involved in a number of operations from Gaza to Jerusalem. In 1917, he received a promotion to Lieutenant.

After serving with the Sussex for three years, Henry transferred to the Royal Flying Corps and obtained his wings in May 1918. He returned to Egypt to serve with the RFC in the summer of 1918 but was killed on July 14^th after being involved in an aeroplane accident. He is commemorated on the Cairo War Memorial.
