Edward J. Plumridge
Sergeant, Royal Army Medical Corps
Edward J. Plumridge was a student at Alleyn's until 1900 and joined the war effort as part of the Royal Army Medical Corps in September 1914. After three months of training, he was sent for service overseas on the Western Front with a Company of 150 men and NCOs. During his time overseas, Edward served as a Sergeant and often volunteered as a stretcher bearer during active operations. He wrote back home to Alleyn's twice during his time abroad and both letters were published by the Edward Alleyn Magazine. Edward's letters can be read here and here.
