Harold Polkinghorne

Harold Polkinghorne was a student at Alleyn’s until 1906 and joined the war effort as part of the Royal Fusiliers. He served overseas on the Western Front as a Private and saw action in France. In 1917, he was serving during the Battle of Arras when he was hit by shrapnel and severely wounded. He later died of his injuries on April 11th 1917. He is commemorated on the Arras Memorial.
