Reginald Julius Prescott

2nd Lieutenant, Lancashire Fusiliers

Reginald Julius Prescott was a student at Alleyn’s until 1912 and lived with his parents, Julius and Katherine, at 22 Hillsboro’ Road, East Dulwich. During his time at school, he was a House Prefect and was a prominent member of the House and School Football and Cricket Elevens. When the First World War broke out in August 1914, Reginald was granted a commission and joined the Lancashire Fusiliers after receiving the rank of 2nd Lieutenant. In April 1917, he was serving in France during the Battle of Arras when he wounded in action and went missing. He was later presumed to have been killed on April 15th 1917. He is commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial.
