Percy Crawford Richards 

2nd Lieutenant, Royal Field Artillery 

Percy Crawford Richards was a student at Alleyn's until 1909 and joined the war effort as part of the Royal Field Artillery. During his time with the RFA, Percy served as a 2nd Lieutenant and saw action overseas on the Western Front. In 1917, he was awarded the Military Cross after extricating a man who had been buried in close proximity to a burning ammunition dump, at great personal risk.
