N. R. Riddle
Private, London Regiment (Royal Fusiliers)
N. R. Riddle lived at 1335 Hammersmith Road, West Kensington and joined the war effort as part of the London Regiment (Royal Fusiliers). During his time with the Fusiliers, he served overseas on the Western Front as a Private and saw action in France. In 1918, he was serving near the Somme when he was killed in action on August 27th. He is buried at Bronfay Farm Military Cemetery, Bray-sur-Somme.
A note in the Edward Alleyn Magazine for February 1922 (No 151, Vol 26) states that School was only informed of the death of N. R Riddle after the war memorial had been installed. Riddle's name therefore could not be included on it. His name is, however, listed on the memorial boards in Christ's Chapel in Dulwich Village.
