Leonard F.R. Sharpe

Lieutenant, Lincolnshire Regiment

Leonard F.R. Sharpe was a student at Alleyn’s until 1909 and lived with his parents, Robert and Sarah, in West Norwood at this time. He joined the war effort after being granted a commission and, following the completion of his officer training, was attached to the Lincolnshire Regiment as a Lieutenant. After considerable service at the Front, he was transferred to Ireland as a Transport Officer and was stationed at Cork in 1918. However, shortly after this transfer, Leonard fell ill. He was sent to recover at Central Military Hospital but later died on July 27th 1918.
