J. Glen Slade
Queen’s Own (Royal West Kent Regiment)
J. Glade Slade joined the war effort early on as part of the Queen’s Own (Royal West Kent Regiment) and served overseas on the Western Front as a Private. During his time overseas, he saw service in France and was involved in a number of localised operations in preparation for the Somme Offensive. It was during this time that he was killed on March 26th 1916. He is buried at Calais Southern Cemetery.
