Herbert Snell

2^nd Lieutenant, London Regiment

Herbert Snell joined the war in January 1916 after being granted a commission in the London Regiment. After completing his training and receiving the rank of 2^nd Lieutenant, he was attached to the Lancashire Fusiliers and arrived on the Western Front in February 1917. After serving for just under two months at the front, he was killed while on patrol duty on April 7^th 1917. His parents, Joseph and Mary, and his wife, Helen, were informed shortly afterwards. He is buried at Brown’s Road Military Cemetery, Festubert.
