Herbert Snell
2nd Lieutenant, London Regiment
Herbert Snell joined the war in January 1916 after being granted a commission in the London Regiment. After completing his training and receiving the rank of 2nd Lieutenant, he was attached to the Lancashire Fusiliers and arrived on the Western Front in February 1917. After serving for just under two months at the front, he was killed while on patrol duty on April 7th 1917. His parents, Joseph and Mary, and his wife, Helen, were informed shortly afterwards. He is buried at Brown’s Road Military Cemetery, Festubert.
