Ronald Davidson Symmons was a student at Alleyn’s until 1911 and lived at 506 Lordship Lane, East Dulwich during this time. He joined the war effort early on as part of the London Regiment (London Scottish) and served overseas on the Western Front as a Private. In late 1914, Ronald was serving in Flanders with the London Regiment when he went missing in action on November 1st. He was later presumed to have been killed in action. He is commemorated on the Ypres (Menin Gate) Memorial.
