R. S. Lancelot Taylor

R. S. Lancelot Taylor was a student at Alleyn’s until 1911 and joined the war effort in August 1914 as part of the London Regiment. During his time with the London Regiment, Taylor served overseas on the Western Front and saw action in France and Flanders as a Private. In 1916, he was serving in France as part of the regiment’s Signal Section during the Battle of Flers-Courcelette when he was killed in action on September 16th 1916. He is commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial.
