Wilfred Ernest Wakely
Private, Dorset Yeomanry (Queen's Own)
Wilfred Ernest Wakely joined the war effort as part of the Dorest Yeomanry (Queen's Own) and served overseas on the Eastern Front as a Private. During his time overseas, he took part in the British Sinai and Palestine Campaign and saw action in Egypt against the forces of the Ottoman Empire. In 1916, he was serving in Western Egypt with the Dorest Yeomanry when he was killed in action on February 26th. He is commemorated on the Alexandria (Chatby) Military and War Memorial Cemetery.
