Wilfred Paul Whitten

Private, Honourable Artillery Company

Wilfred Paul Whitten was a student at Alleyn’s until 1910 and lived with his parents, George and Frances, at 28 Braxted Road, Streatham Common during this time. He joined the war effort in August 1915 as part of the Honourable Artillery Company and served as a Private overseas on the Western Front. During his time overseas, Wilfred was involved in a number of British operations and was injured in action on more than occasion. After the conflict came to a close in November 1918, he received the British War and Victory Medal for his service.
