Paul Bromley Williams

Private, London Regiment (Prince of Wales’ Own Civil Service Rifles)

Paul Bromley Williams was a student at Alleyn’s until 1909 and joined the war effort as part of the London Regiment (Prince of Wales’ Own Civil Service Rifles). During his time with the regiment, he served overseas on the Western Front and saw action in France and Flanders. In 1916, he took part in the Battle of the Somme and was part of the attacking forces at High Wood in September. Unfortunately, it was during this time that was killed in action on November 15th 1916. He is buried at the London Cemetery and Extension, Longueval. His brother, L Williams, was also serving at the front during this time as part of the London Cyclists.
